Thanksgiving recipes

What’s your recipe?:hugs:

Not any that I use for Thanksgiving. I’m pretty strange since I don’t like a lot of spice. I mostly make red beans and rice and gumbo during the colder months.

I love spicy food. My father’s side is part Creole and my mom cooked a lot of Cajun foods so I love the spiciness. I agree with not making it for thanksgiving. That would be strange to me.

My grandpa kept a large garden when he was still able and always grew and cooked his own greens. They were so good  I’m not big on sardines myself, although they do bring fond memories of my college Theatre days and “Noises Off”-
The Ethiopian greens sound very good. I’m not one who can taste the bitterness in collards, broccoli, brussel sprouts. Thank goodness because I love them all!

I’m not going to hijack the Thanksgiving thread, but hurray for Neil Gaimon!

Me either. He rocks!! I can’t watch the show anymore because I read the book.

They’re not bad. Do you have a good recipe? My mother-in-law roasts them.

I like almost all vegetables but you’d have to torture me to get me to eat brussel sprouts.

I love the book! The twist at the end? Well all 3 twists haha. The TV show can’t beat that.

How does it taste vs potatoes?

We’ve been living in France for 8 years now but we still do our Thanksgiving…or I do it when I can, mainly for my kids, hubby is French. This year we have my step daughter here, her first year in France, she’s attending a University and she recently lost her Mom…about a year and a half ago. We will have our meal this weekend.
They don’t sell whole turkey’s here but I should find enough turkey meat. They had some legs at the meat store last time we went. Since winding up in my wheelchair its too difficult for me to cook in the kitchen at the stove…I still do it sometimes but its difficult for me so I got an instant pot…Im actually thinking about getting another one. I have the best Mac and Cheese recipe for the instant pot, my son begs for it and my step daughter loves it because her Mom used to make it homemade, my youngest daughter doesn’t care for it…she likes macaroni with pesto. It turns out perfect and creamy every time. I found it doing internet searches. If anyone has an instant pot or electric pressure cooker and wants it just let me know.
For being French my husband makes amazing stuffing/dressing btw.

Would he be willing to share that recipe? I want a One Pot so bad! They’re on sale during Black Friday so I might be tempted to buy it. I’m disabled too, with breathing, mobility and vision impairment. I’m slowly losing my vision. This would save me money on home cooked meals vs eating out so much. My bowels would thank me too! Happy Thanksgiving!
