Can anyone tell what kind of license or tax ID I need to sell Reborn Babies.I am getting to much info about like six different fees for things I never heard of. I am not starting a million dollar business. Thanks

Living in Texas all I needed was a sale tax number. Any time I sell within the state I have to change sales tax. I pay my sales tax ever quarter.
Each state is may be different in what they require. I’ve been selling on eBay since 2001. When selling at conventions in other states I had to
meet their sales requirement. . Sorry I’m not much help.

Here in PA, you have to make $1000 profit a year after expenses to pay taxes. Otherwise you are considered a hobbyist.

I do file income taxes every year on my sales too. Forgot to mention that, Thanks otterbaby2 for reminding me about those taxes…I wasn’t even thinking about that end.
But the only number need on my income tax form is Social Security number.
The states are all so different and can ask for so many different things. I think you really need to find someone in your state to ask. What state are you in?
I may not be correct, but I think that it is a Federal, not State tax issue. I think I researched it at irs.gov. I’m in Pennsylvania.
I sell so few and for only a few dollars over what I have into them so paying taxes never entered my mind. Sort of a break even policy in my head by the time I add in all the supplies and take off what I donate and add in anything for time spent… I don’t know as the IRS would see it that way but don’t think they are going to come after me for the whole $100 I might make a year! Especially now that I haven’t been making as many dolls. Now I have to add in more of a headache to sell them? And do I get to count off part of my mortgage like child care workers do? And electricity for the oven? This really isn’t a profit making business for most of us so I guess most of us are like me going “Duh, I’m supposed to be doing taxes!!! I am scared to add up how much I spent this month on odds and ends for fear of panicking! Why did I buy 20 pairs of newborn shoes on sale at the consignment shop? MORE hairbows!!! Oops, forgot to order end caps again? Seriously, that is where the magnets are? If I paint on the waterbed and I have to fix it due to a leak, is it a business expense?” You know the feeling of a runaway brain when you actually look around you at the immense hoard of baby related items in your space now that you have broken down and succumbed to reborn madness. All because you wanted a reborn and couldn’t afford one or got one and weren’t happy with it… If I have to put down on paper what I’m doing, I’ll definitely either raise prices, quit or go crazy! Already there on the last one according to kids so guess I need to get a record book for adding up expenses…after I swing through the baby section…
