Perhaps you could explain the situation and see if they were willing to wait just a bit? It would be nice thing if they would.
I did email her and told her I’d contact her whenever I get home. I just thought it was kind of ironic.

Yes it is and I agree Murphy’s law just hoped you wouldn’t miss out on the chance to do it 
I might not. It’s one I’ve made before and she seems to really want it.
