Stripping questions 🤔

How do I use the Windsor Newton to strip? Can I strip and repaint a doll head with out removing the rooted hair? Does Windsor Newton work to remove air dry?

Would you be able to blend it in near the hair line?

You can do it if you don’t change the skin color too much.

Hmmmm, ok. Now… Can I use Windsor Newton to remove air dry paint? Or just vodka?

I’m pretty sure you can use it on air dry and I stripped a completly rooted head before, Just left the scalp part under the hair alone and about half way through repainting from using thinners, I had a purple ring like around the head under the hairline from the hair being a dark brown and it bled the hair dye onto the vinyl. I thought I screwed her up but she came out fine and can’t tell at all. I figured I ruined her so just kept going anyways and it all bleed well and the purple either faded or I just covered it up with paint, not sure. But the hair still stayed dark brown so I didn’t ruin that, but I thought for sure I’d have blonde or light colored hair everywhere I touched it with thinner or Windsor newton! Good luck, can’t wait to see what and how you do!

I use Windsor & Newton to remove air dry paint. Just use a q-tip near the hairline so it doesn’t actually get in the hair.

Thank you Jean!

You’re welcome. I also use a slice of knee high stocking to hold the hair off the face. I pull it up from the neck so just the edge of the hairline is showing.

That’s a great Idea! I just slicked the hair back, never thought about it, but great tip if I ever have to do this again!
