I have a ton of pictures of Reborns I’ve completed. Wips of hands, feet, hair, hands etc. pictures of ones I’ve sold n ones I still have. I’m thinking about deleting all of wips of Reborns that have sold. I’m just gonna keep 1 or 2 complete pictures of the ones that have sold. How long do you keep your wip pictures? How or where do you store your pictures? I have a folder on my iPad for Reborns n wips. But I discovered that They are still in the regular photo album n if I try to delete them, they delete from the wip n reborn folder as well.
I’ve been wanting to make a scrapbook of all dolls I’ve completed so far, but haven’t gotten to it yet.
I usually delete some WIP pics, unless they’re particularly interesting. I tend to keep the best pics of the completed dolls.
I use google photos. It has unlimited storage & I can organize them into folders. I keep all my photos there, not just reborns but personal as well.
I have the cloud. All my pictures suppose to back up to it. How does google work? Is it free?
Yup it’s free. You just log in with your gmail. I also have the app on my phone, so any pictures I take on my phone go to google photos and I can access them on my laptop if I need to.
I save my babies in individual albums on my computer so any photos I take of that particular baby is stored.
What will you do if you run out of storage on your computer?
For saving photos without taking up computer space I would highly recommend an external hard drive. They’re super easy to use, and you can get great deals on them if you shop around.
The likelihood of that happening is low unless you have lots of software and programs stored on it. lol My phone is 8G I believe and I have currently 4000+ photos and all my apps. A computer can store MUCH MORE. But you can do external drives, SD cards, and etc.
I have a large 3 ring I put 3 photos of each baby and I have it sectioned ones sold one section for ones still available. When they sell I put who they went to and address. I have a section for customs and some of the nice responses about that baby. I don’t trust my computer, old fashioned I guess.
I know about sad cards an external hard drives. I have a laptop n a computer which I don’t really use. I mainly use my iPads n iPhone.
I I bought the picture Keeper. I haven’t used it yet but I think it’s basically a flash drive that supposedly detects all images and weeds them out. If you have them organized, then a flash drive would probably be cheaper. If space is an issue.
That’s a good idea.
I trusted mine and when it went down,I lost all my photos.Kids told me I was crazy for not having them backed up somewhere else.
Always have an external harddrive! One or more!. If your computer crashes they charge an arm and a leg (no pun intended) to try and recover, if they even can. My last one crashed right before Christmas last yr and I didn’t back it up so I lost so much. Sledge hammers work wonders.
I am very leary about cloud service. (and internet in general). Awhile back, we were in a “vacation dead zone” I installed messenger- the stand alone app on my phone. Weeks later, ready to run out the door, FB page is up on desktop, the alert goes off and pics of my hubby and I start popping up on the screen. FB was trying to do us a favor by combining everything in one place. Thank goodness they were just scenic pics. No thanks FB- I removed messenger.
When I had messenger on my old phone, Facebook would suggest friends from my contact list as people I may know. I knew then that messenger was searching my phone. I don’t have it on my main phone anymore. It is on my iPad. You also gotta be careful with some of these apps. For instance, if you download a card game, why does or would it need access to your photos?
I use jump drives. Easily portable and they have plenty of space. My intentions are to put my photos into a book using Freebooks. I have used the service for a book for my sister and loved the results. Want to do several for my reborns.
I keep my files, not just pictures, in several different places on different media. Hopefully, they won’t all go bad at the same time. I have 2 external HD’s, and a good many thumb drives, etc., and lots of CD’s and DVD’s. I would hate to lose all my pictures, for sure. I have thought of putting a copy in a safe deposit box.
I like all my pictures at my fingertips. They are all in folders by year and event, and my dolls by name. I copy everything once or twice a year to Shutterfly which has free storage. That’s convenient because I use them to print or make scrapbooks. I also backup my files to flash drives every six months.
