Can anyone please help me figure out what I can do to fix this skin color? I’m afraid I may have ruined this kit… I apparently made the mottling layers too dark and it’s ending up this sickly purple color. So far, this is a base coat, 3 mottling layers, and a flesh coat. Any advice on what to do now? And is there any saving it? (The mottling layers are already baked on.)
So look at a color wheel. The color opposite is the color you use to neutralize. Opposite purple is yellow. You will use colors in the yellow family. I would start with a creamy yellow color that is a mix of primary yellow and light flesh to make a soft yellow cream. Apply thin layers to try to tone down your purple.
I think following @anjsmiles advice you will be able to save her easily! You’re still in the first few layers. Keep going!
I agree with the others. Some yellow washes will balance her out. I think she’s going to look great once you do that.
Thank you all! I think I’m going to put her on hold for now and order some yellow paint. All I have is what came with the beginners kit and the closest to yellow is the baby skin color. Glad to know she’s not a lost cause though! lol
What did you paint her with?
I used Genesis heat set paints.
