Reborning for a Year Now

I Started reborning in March of 2015 and this has been the most awesome hobby that I enjoy the most. I have made 40 babies or more and I have learned so much in a short time from everyone here and I think I finally have my own style or my own way of making each baby. Sometimes I still wonder if I over stuff my babies but I haven’t had any complaints about any of the babies that I have made from any customers. I am very proud of my work now compared to my first few babies that I have made.
This is my first two babies that I made, I was very proud of them when I first made them, not so much now though, but I sold both of them, so there isn’t much I can do about it now.

This is my newest completed babies and they really show the growth and improvement from where I first started.

Isn’t it great to look back and see how far you have come? You have made great advances …keep up the good work.
There’s always something new or different to learn in this hobby. I love it! :grinning:

Thank you. I still have a lot room for improvement.

Yes, it is and I learn fast too, I think the pricing of my babies needs to go up a bit more but I want to wait for more improvement still.

I can’t do painted hair at least not with paint, I have tried and I don’t like it at all. I plan to try using prisma pencils next to see if I can do the painted hair that way. I am sure I can do prisma hair.

Your first babies were cute, but You’ve improved so fast and they look so good.

Ahhh I haven’t painted a head yet I actually love doing the rooted mohair. I think I will give it a try soon just to see how I go. I have a purchased tutorial from Linda Moore so I will follow that. It looks like a good one.

I have painted several heads and didn’t like them at all and washed it off before ever baking. I only left two babies with the painted hair that I did, one was for my niece, but I am going to be rooting over her painted hair soon, and the other one was a donated baby to my local nursing home, they said the hair looked great but I still didn’t like it but sent the baby with a cap and asked them to keep the cap on him.

Thank you Helen, you helped me and encouraged me along the way this past year along with many others also on this forum. I hope to improve even more with adding prisma hair and making my rooting even better.

@JackieJo, yes I have and it shows so I am very proud of my accomplishments over this past year and I hope to improve even more this year. Thank you.

Thats what I was thinking when I was looking through all the pictures of all the babies I have made this past year.

Lulu is a keeper. My husband looked at her and said “she isn’t going anywhere”, he told me I am not allowed to sale her, he wants her.

I have another Lulu to make in my stash that was supposed to be my keeper so we will see what happens with that one when I get around to making her.

I use a lot more washes of colors and more colors for mottling now then when I first started and I wish I knew then what I know now but that too was all part of learning a growing with this hobby.
