Ok so @AmandasBabies and I were bouncing around some swap ideas and thought of something that might be really fun for a “Baby Be Mine” Valentine’s Day swap.
Everyone who enters the swap will be assigned a number and will be required to make 1 baby. Human babies only, no alternative types. There will be no need for anyone to make backup babies.
CHECK POINTS. Just as with the other swaps there will be deadlines and check points where you will be required to submit “good faith” photos of your work in progress. Failure to meet the checkpoints will result in your number being retired and you watching from the sidelines.
THE MATCHING. Matching will not take place until the final completion deadline, and all babies are completed and ready to ship. So as an artist you will have no idea who you’re making the baby for. The matching will be done by lottery. Numbers placed in a hat, pulled at random and assigned to another randomly pulled number until everyone is matched up. To make it even more silly and interesting I may do the lottery on video (so you all can watch me make a fool of myself lol).
ARTIST CHOICE. There will be no list of wants or preferences accepted. THIS IS A 100% ARTISTIC FREEDOM SWAP. The kit, gender, sleeping/awake, skin tones, bald, rooted, painted, etc is all up to the artist. So you’re received baby could be from a BB kit or some limited edition rarely seen. All I ask is that you paint a kit and in a style that you yourself would not frown upon having (so no ditching your ugly ducklings in this swap, save it for the box lol).
PETS & SMOKING. I know that there have been discussions about smoke and pet home disclosures, but unfortunately I don’t how I’d keep the swap totally random if I had to match up folks by those preferences. So I won’t be doing that or gathering that information from anyone. That said participation in the swap means knowing and being ok with the chance that you may receive a baby coming from a home where one or both of these things are present.
SHIPPING. Our forum may be small, but we span the globe lol. Participation in the swap will also mean there is a chance that your baby must travel overseas, so willingness to pay the higher cost of shipping must be agreed upon before you enter as it would not be fair to back out at the last minute because you don’t want to pay higher shipping cost. If you participate …Plan ahead for higher shipping costs, and if after the match your baby doesn’t need to travel that far, look at the bright side, you’ll have a little extra spending money 
SKILL LEVELS WILL VARY. In this swap partners WILL NOT be matched by skill level, it is 100% random. So again, your participation is an unspoken agreement stating that you are fine with receiving a baby from an artist that may not paint on your level. You may not put your swap baby up for sale or trade anywhere, however if you really can’t bond with him/her, you may privately give away or donate your baby. Either way a public thank you on the forum will be expected from all who participate.
KEEPING THE SECRET. You will not be allowed to disclose your assigned number, or tell anyone who you’re matched with.
This post is just to get and idea of the level of interest. Some fine tuning would still need to be done in terms of dates, deadlines, member forum involvement. etc. Please comment and let me know if you’d be interested in participating and feel free to share any ideas or suggestions you may have, but keep in mind the theme of 100% artist freedom and random pairing those 2 elements will not be changed.
