Pre loved dolls on reborns.com is killing our market

I agree. But instead he did opt in and all people don’t understand that. The site is confusing now

I dont go to a website expecting to only see a part of what is offered… I want to see it ALL

Then make my decision. Half the time I dont know what I am looking for. I look for what pulls my heart strings. I would miss out on a lot if a website didnt show me all they had straight forward.

Very true, I’ve seen some pics with logos on them

I noticed that, but I also noticed that most of the babies selling are under $300. Some as low as in the $200’s. How this is even possible is beyond me. Even with BB kits, that are now $69, then the bodies and $10 shipping.:pensive:

But will the doll still show on your reborns page as adopted? If the customer pays outside reborns?

Yes, you go in and mark it as adopted.

Yes if you mark it as adopted. However if they don’t pay through your reborns page it won’t be a verified sale. When I sold on reborns I made that mistake, I would invoice through square. I had 68 sales, but only 2 verified sales.

The site is confusing to me, and alot of buyers also. I also think " The simpler, the better". I don’t understand why all the filters. But it is what it is.

It definitely wasnt for me for all of them. I was searching for a Manuela or a Maddie and when I searched by these kit names a couple did come up but when I went back to the homepage there was a couple on there who had not come up and these had been given names rather than the kit name in the name section.
I will try again and email him if it is still doing it

Im not keen on the changes either. I always found the site a bit hard to navigate but its frustrating now.
I like that you can get kits on there now, dont know if thats new or i only just noticed lol. I actually like the preowned secrion because it means I may have the opportunity to buy an artists work who is normally out of my price range.

What is it like selling on FB?

A lot of people only buy sale babies, some have a big stash they have been collecting, traded for…

Three years ago I got babies for around twenty bucks. Air dry can be cheap depending what you use, if you are doing a bald or quickly hair paint, no box opening, you can swing it for a tiny bit of profit I guess.

Can you set filters wide open so nothing is filtered out?

You have to opt in to include alternatives. But I do not remember if preloved is pre selected?

On mine I have both selected so I see all of them.

One other thing is the pre loved babies may be counterfeit kits even though they say they have neck stamp or even a COA. Someone selling a random doll may not even know, especially if they received it as a present.
Even if preloved are “only” 18 percent of the reborn sales, thats quite a lot.
You dont see normal stores selling used versions of their products.

Exactly, they should be separate.

I can see both sides of this….but I wonder how many buyers have gone to the site looking for a pre-loved doll and ended up buying a brand new baby?

It’s usually productive. But lately it seems slow there too. :woman_shrugging:t2:

If they are using the “preloved” filter I don’t think the odds of purchasing a New Baby would be high.

Soooo. I now own the domain and SSL and all for the website RealReborns.Art.

No website built yet. Still a long way to go.
