The ribbon was such a great idea. It actually makes ME feel better because it reminds me that each one of us is thinking of Nikki. Plus, everytime I see one of the ribbons, it can remind me to pray for our girl.

Hi Nikki,
I just wanted to put on here an explanation about my avatar because I want you to know the reason why I have not changed it to the ribbonā¦I was really torn between doing the ribbon or leaving my pic. I actually changed to a ribbon for a short time but was thinking about it (sorryā¦it is my nature to contemplate things probably longer than I should) I think the ribbon is a wonderful idea and I know that it is a means of showing that we love and support you through what you have gone through (some of us know the feeling from experience and know that it will always be with you so want you to know that we love you and understandā¦) I kept thinking about the ribbon and the photo and trying to decide what to doā¦the ribbon - a beautiful symbol of our shared sorrow for your loss or the face of a friend in a time when we sort of really need to know that someone we know loves us and is there for usā¦I opted to keep the face shot but I just wanted you to know the reason behind why I chose it. I hope I made the right choiceā¦love and hugs

I, too, felt some pressure to change to the ribbon, but I missed seeing everyoneās faces and I didnāt want to add that. Plus, when Nikki returns, she probably doesnāt want to see that on the other threads as it will be a constant reminder when sheās working hard to forget.
