New workspace!

Just wanted to share my new-ish workspace! I used to just dump stuff I didn’t need in this small area of my house, but my boyfriend helped me clean up the mess. It’s right next to a big window, making it amazing for rooting (and sometimes sewing). I’ve never rooted at a desk before and it makes a huge difference compared to rooting on my couch. So much nicer on my back!

The desk and chair here are a bit beat up. Next to my house are trashcans and my neighbors tend to illegally dump old furniture there. I took the desk a year or so ago and the chair a few months ago. They’ve got some scratches and chipped paint and such, but for a creative workspace that doesn’t matter to me.

I’m thinking of installing a shelf or something on the wall here, but I’m not sure what or how yet. I fear it’ll look too crowded. But so far, I’m super happy with my little spot.

Thanks! The desk is one from ikea. I was actually looking at purchasing one, when a week or two later I saw the exact desk I’d been looking at standing with the trash. So I got super lucky there.

I don’t think it looks beat up at all, I’m glad you have this space.

Wish my neighbors would dump great treasures, I love your space, it is so nice to have a dedicated space you can come back to everyday. A window is bonus!

I dream of a southern facing window in a work space…

I had mine next to the window but I live in the High Desert and too much dust and sand flows through any little crack or opening and I like to open my windows.

Mine is west facing, I think. It’s also the only big window in my apartment. It was built in the 70s and I guess small windows and weird floor plans were popular. :woman_shrugging:
