Hi Sherry! Welcome to the forum. What kit did you buy?
Remember when I asked you āhypotheticallyā if you would paint another Bella for me if I had the kit? Wellā¦I have one and no idea what to do with itā:roll_eyes:
You mean you actually have that kit? I have looked all over for one. If you really donāt want to do it, lots of people on here do customs. But if you do want to reborn her, weāll all walk you through. What supplies do you already have?
So Iām in the āwatch you tube and get 12 different ideas of what to buy and what brandā stage of supplies Genisis paint comes up a lot with scary cautions about not using your own oven. So then what? A toaster oven?
Most of the people on here use a Nuwave oven with an extender ring. They keep track of the temperature by using an oven thermometer because sometimes the actual temperature of the oven is different than what you set. Some people use these in a well ventilated room and a few people even use them outside. There are other similar ovensā¦quite inexpensiveā¦but the general opinion is that the NuWave is best.
Is that what you use?
Nope. Iām one of the ākiller rebornersā who still uses my kitchen oven. I actually HAVE an oven very similar to a New Wave. It works great, holds itās temperature, and sits on the shelf. When I have it out, itās in my way. So my laziness will probably kill me. I do have very good ventilation and run the cleaning cycle frequently on the oven so there is no buildup. But I really canāt recommend using your kitchen oven. There really is a lot of evidence against it. That said, if you just want to try out reborning, I say go ahead an use it for one doll. It would be crazy to buy an oven when you donāt even know if you are going to enjoy this. Or, if you are really worried, buy air dry paints. They work very well. If you click on the search icon and search air dry paints, you can find out all about them.
I also use my home oven and have for the 10 years Iāve been reborning.
I used my oven too for a year. Worked fine, but with a new baby around a lot I didnāt want to use the oven here at the new house. So when I saw BJās had the Nuwave for $99 I bought one. I bake out on a table on the lanai.
You are so naughty Helenā¦that is a No no!..you sound like my dadā¦he use to say ādo as I say do, donāt do as I doāā¦lol
Cancers show up later in lifeā¦10 years of cooking in your regular ovenā¦Yikes! that is scaryā¦I worked in an aged care and rehab centre for 9 yearsā¦Cancer symptoms are not very niceā¦Not worth the risk once you have seen all thatā¦Hope you will continue to stay healthyā¦
