Bumping this. Though it hardly seems worthwhile, as the comments have been edited. I guess it was all a misunderstanding, as some of us thought that the reason somebody didn’t want to attend it would be because of racism. Honestly, I hadn’t even thought of S and J O for an awfully long time, so they didn’t even cross my mind. That being said, if they DID show up, I think we’re all grown enough to just ignore them. It’s a public event, after all.

I don’t know why it would be so controversial to express concern about those two coming or why talking about it would need to be cloaked in secrecy.

I don’t know that it needs to be cloaked in secrecy as much as it being a case of being something that Nevin doesn’t want discussed on the forum. I believe he even went so far as to add at least the user name of one to the blocked words list.

I must have forgotten that. I didn’t remember it ever being a huge controversy in here. I guess I assumed the majority of us were authentic only?

The authenticity issue is more recent than blocking the username. It was a legal issue with the company having to do with slander/libel if I remember correctly.
