Need ANOTHER opinion on babies for children…

Aaaaw I’m sure it’s adorable!

We’re all talking heat set paints, right? And the eyes were left in?

Mine was air dry but I took the eyes out to paint it and replaced them with more realistic ones.

I cut the sockets on the inside in half moons or smiles at the bottom and removed the eyes. Then replaced mine with Secrist or Pabol eyes. Those are cheaper but yet look more realistic than the factory ones. I used heat set paints on mine. If you replace the eyes, they use 16mm eyes.

I heat the vinyl, take eyes out through the front and later replace by heating the vinyl again, temp maybe 180. In past experience, I have melted many eyes, so I remove them. Berenguer makes a decent eye color, so I replace them. With Genesis heat set paint, I haven’t seen any difference with daily use and still find myself picking up the doll when I see it on the floor. “Oh, baby that’s no place for you.”

I would go with with Bountiful Baby sculpts.

Factory dolls have to be stripped, if the eyes on this baby are plastic you will have to pull them out if you use GHSP. Also the vinyl is cheap and can melt in the oven.

I think factory dolls are a little too iffy and you would have to buy bodies anyway so you are already paying for shipping.

BB has so many cute sale babies, and there are always artists here thinning stash that have some good deals on BB kits.

I think it is awesome you are gifting reborns to your nieces, what a generous and heart felt gift.

I am sure they will!
I thought you already had the Berenguers but if you were making a purchase the BB kits definitely will be softer and bigger babies too for more realism. Especially if you got a Realborn.

Okay ladies, little change of topic but still in “Christmas baby mode”… I want to do like a little gender reveal surprise for these kids on Christmas. I bought white onesies & hospital blankets for the babies for gifting. Could I put a pink “girl” baby gown in a balloon and have the kids pop it? Or any other ideas? Preferably not glitter or confetti. :joy:

How about making mini cakes/cookies/rice krispy treats with pink frosting inside? Take a bite to see gender 🩷

Ive seen gender reveals from bath bombs. Maybe get three toy baby baths and ask the kiddies to drop thier bath bombs in and wait to see what color the water goes?

I went to one where the soon-to-be-big-brother poured a baking soda mixture into a volcano to reveal he was getting a little sister! Too messy for a Christmas activity but it really stuck with me because it was so cool haha.

My niece would enjoy a cupcake/cookie/krispie treat way more than a scratch-off card but it’s another alternative. DIY scartch off card

“Its a ____”, card in a gender reveal envelope?

Not messy, or food.

But I think food is more fun

Food is fun but it will be Christmas Eve morning so I may try the bath bomb idea.
