Here is Mary Ann with her new eyebrows. I love the way that they came out. Thank you so much for all of your advice and help on how to strip the old ugly brows and redo them. I did 3 layers of complexion…3 layers of blush…a layer of matte…drew the brows on then another layer of matte to seal them. I baked each layer as I went along. Wow she looks so different then she did a couple of days ago! I could not have done this without you’re guidance and input! I worked hard on each layer hoping it would blend in with the rest of Mary Ann’s complexion and it did!! It took me all afternoon and part of the evening to redo the damage that I had caused her but she was well worth the time and energy!!! I couldn’t have done this without all of you!! Thank you sooooooo soooooo sooooo much!! Please let me know what you think of the new brows and if there is something else I should do to them.
She is such a cutie.
wow! huge difference. Great job!
Much better!
Yeah huh …she’s ready
For all the trouble Mary Ann… aka Autumn Alexis… has given me from day one I’ve really bonded with her. She’s a definite keeper. I just have to finish rooting her and she is done!!! Thank you for all the support!!
That makes a BIG difference! Looking cute! NIce work!
Holy Cow, JackieJo! That looks like a completely different baby! Nice job. I’m glad you didn’t take my advice and strip the whole head.
MUCH better!!
I’m amazed at how you were able to match the damaged brow area to the rest of her complexion. I’m trying to fix a tiny spot on Larry’s nose where the paint layers came off, and it’s quite challenging for me. Great job!
She’s precious great redo!!! I’m sure that was a task matching her complexion but, you nailed it
She looks great. You did a fantastic job.
Wow…!!.. you did a wonderful job…she looks amazing…!!
I don’t know if I’m more impressed that you were able to strip small areas and blend them in with the rest, or with the eyebrows themselves. She looks great!
Yay! She looks wonderful! After all that frustration, you have made a beautiful baby. Congratulations.
Jackie, she is beautiful. I am in awe that you could blend it all in. I cannot tell that there was anything ever wrong with her brows or the paint underneath. Great work! It seems like when something goes wrong for me I cannot think straight and make other mistakes. My Mary Anne is to be here today and I hope it goes smooth. I have only painted one other Nataly Blick kit- Tiffany was a dream to paint, but the dealer I bought from said Tiffany was produced in Germany, Larry in China, I am not sure about Mary Anne.
Awww thank you so much everyone! All of your suggestions and expertise helped me immensely…I would not have even tackled this if it wasn’t for all of your support and help. You honestly gave me the confidence to try it.
@jennyk I didn’t know that Larry was made in China!! Hmmmmm I wonder if Mary Ann was too? I looked her up on different doll sites and only one said she was “made of German Vinyl” the rest just said soft vinyl. I just did Lucrecia Blick before I started Mary Ann and Lucrecia was a dream to do. Everything went really great and without any problems. I’m going to have to be more careful when buying kits. I’ve heard so many bad things about the ones made in China. I’ll only buy the German vinyl from now on…
Oh they look wonderfully real!
I think you can just never tell when a batch of vinyl is going to be strange. My worst kit was German vinyl. Hard to paint and the eye sockets were jagged and uneven. My kit just got here so I’ll go open and post if I notice anything. My dealer did not get her kits until last week, hers were shipped later so mine could be a different batch. I use air dry paint so oily kits are a real problem for me.
