Marita Winters Bundle of Love questions

I was able to score this little gem on Ebay. For those of you that have reborned her, is her vinyl hard or soft, and if you removed the hair and rerooted, how would you keep the hair in without gluing it?

**I see now that she wasn’t actually rooted with factory hair.

I was super excited as I had bid on another one and the price moved up in to the ridiculous range so I stopped bidding. I got her, with shipping for just under $35, which I was pretty happy with!

@LisaLynn has reborn this adorable baby before.

@LisaLynn I read back thru your thread. Your version is the reason I had to buy her! Is it possible to remove the wig without destroying it? I won’t know until she comes tomorrow but her wig looked fairly decent, and I’d love to save it if I can.

It’s not a wig from what I understood, but glued on hair

It’s really hard to tell from the pics. I thought it was a kind of wig?

I am pretty sure it is glued on hair. The baby is hard not soft. You can paint it with air dry acrylics. Most people I saw reborn them removed the glued on hair first. Not sure with what but it may just peel off.

I imagine she will be a super fun project!

I have one now. I peeled off her hair as best I could and then removed her paint with Windsor newton. That also took the glue off her head but I had to scrub pretty hard.

Is the hair a wig?

No, just glued on hair.

How weird! Thank you for that info!

Yes she is solid vinyl. The hair is glued on a weird plastic bump on her head. I used W&N to get off the glue as well. Here is what the top of the head looked like. She makes a beautiful baby. It was a fun project!

Yours is so gorgeous! I just wanted to pick her up and cuddle her!
That hair is just so strange. From your pics I really thought it was all one piece or a wig.

Thank you so much! Happy to help  I used airdry paints on her. She’s pretty heavy so a little awkward to paint at times. I painted the body front and back while holding onto the head. I was afraid if I didn’t do it all at one time you would see a line where the paint stopped and started. I blew dry the body and then painted the head. I laid her on a puppy pad to finish drying but found it left the imprint of the pad because she is so heavy. So then I put a blanket under the pad for a cushion and that helped a lot.

So I learned a bit while cleaning her down. She is not solid vinyl. The weird cap that’s on top of her head comes off, exposing the fiber fill and glass breads that are inside. I have no clue what her nails were painted with, but W&N would not even touch it, but acetone took it off! I got her stripped , washed, and sealed, and I just love her and can’t wait to paint her!
@LisaLynn I’m so sorry for flooding your inbox :person_shrugging:
