Making silicones? Help?

Can someone point me in the direction of a good tutorial on making silicone babies?(if there even is one) Or if any of you know how can you tell me what all supplies I need to get started? Like what paints for ecoflex 30(that’s what silicone I’ll use), how much silicone I’ll need(only making newborn full limbs and head, not full body), and how to make a mold for a clay sculpt?

I’ve asked a LOT I know, but I really want to make silicones! Any and all help is VERY much appreciated!

I haven’t made it yet. I just love to plan ahead lol I like having all my ducks in a row before I start a big project. However when I start the sculpting process I will definitely share pics!

So you haven’t sculpted anything yet?

No, I’m getting all the supplies I need first. If I don’t make a good enough sculpt I’ll shop around for a legal use mold.

Ill be making up a list for supplies and rough list of costs. There really isnt a tutorial that i know of. You just have to basically get a general idea of it and see if you think you could do it. I recommend lots if research. Check out all videos about sculpting, molding, mother molds, silicone paintings etc. Watch everything you can, even the bad videos on youtube, all have info rather its good or bad, bad ones shiw you what not to do, aka short cuts etc, dont use hardware silicone please! But watching videos of those ladies on youtube will still give you an idea of how its done. Check out smoothon.com watch all their videos. Check out reynoldsam.com for supplies too. This is a very pricy hobby to invest in. I bought all my supplies over a period of time to ease the cost. By the silicone last, it only has a shelf life of 6 months before it goes bad and needs to be used up.

You also need a degassing chamber. You can get one with a pump @ $200 on ebay

Once youve researched then ask questions of things that didnt make since. If you go on the fb silicone babies page and ask where to start you might get a harsh answer lol. They dont like when you dont do some research first, but feel free to pm me if you need help, i dont mind
