I purchased this body probably a year ago. I never took it out of the package until today. Didn’t cross my mind to check for defects when it arrived, as I’ve not experienced many body defects. I looked at the leg area where the cable ties go. The little channels the ties go into don’t look right. They don’t line up like all other bodies I’ve used, where the cable tie can fit together at each end. These stagger past each other and I have no idea how they work. The arms on this body are like the usual I’m used to but the legs are weird. Wondering if the leg cable tie channels are defective; maybe someone forgot to trim and finish sewing them. Any suggestions? Am I missing something with how these work? Pictures:
I just trimmed mine when I got one like that
Ok, I was wondering if I could do that. Good to know. Thanks!
If I were you I would just cut a slit on the inside about where I put the line. Feed the zip tie through there. Then the extra fabric would completely cover the zip tie.
I trim mine too.
But what the heck? Who sews these??? LOL
Maybe it was 2nds?
I have gotten them with the kits from Macs.
I have had several of them like that…I didn’t do anything to them even tho they look weird…they worked fine for me…if they hadnt…I would have altered them.
how does the zip tie line up if you dont cut the excess off?
I cant remember…
I have gotten some too, but thought it was some clever new design to hide zip ties and I was just too dingy to figure out how to use it.
Trim it or make as slit as suggested, it’ll be fine!
This was me. In the end I cut the stupid thing. I never posted because I felt too stupid to know how to actually use this cool feature…
Thanks, ladies! I will try cutting a slit. This is the first of many bodies I’ve purchased from Macs that is like this. Good to know it can be “fixed.” I’m not a seamstress, so I was a bit stumped. LOL
