Has anyone ever done any of these kits? What’s the vinyl like?
I have never done any of these particular kits but they look like Chinese knock-offs of reputable sculptors though they are not identical…eg…I see at least one or two Marx and Timmerman replicas here so if they are the usual chinese replicas, I would probably pass on them. They are not normally made with the same safety standards as far as toxic fumes from their vinyls which would be my main concern, they have been known to split or crack and the vinyl is normally very oily and a bit of a pain because it either resist paint or will absorb the colour
I thought these were kits that Macphersons created for charity right? They aren’t SUPPOSED to be China replicas.
No they are not replicas or china knock offs, they are the ones from MacPhersons. I really like the faces on a few of them and thinking about ordering them with my next MacP order, but wanted to hear any opinions other have about the vinyl, etc.
I have the one in the very first picture and it is nice except the head is rather hard. In fact it is the one I’m going to start on next. It is all washed and waiting for me to get started, maybe I will be able to tell you more down the line a little bit.
Thanks so much for letting me know…I have never seen them before…With the names they have, the yellowish tones in the vinyl and because they favour some of the ones already on the market, I thought they might be replicas…Glad to know they’re not…That is a lovely idea having part of the proceeds going to charity…
Kinda neat - they are having a contest for the kits reborned pictures to go on the Certificates.
(Copied from the site)
“To help you feel even more involved than just the contribution we are announcing a contest for you to have fun while using the wonderful talents you possess doing your reborns. Our dolls will be open editions but we will be providing them with a certificate with the Hope for Nations
story so your buyers will know that you have helped contribute to this worthwhile cause. The problem we have is we don’t have any pretty pictures to put on the face of the certificate. That is where you get to have fun. Buy one of the Little Hearts of Hope dolls. Reborn and take as many
pictures as you want and submit to us. The winner will then appear forever on the certificate with your name there for all to see that you have actively helped contribute to the needed children of the world.”
Oh great, thank you.
That’s actually one of the ones I’m interested in getting. Photos 1 & 3 on the top row and photo 2 on the second row.
I saw that too, but I think it’s outdated. If you look under the photo and the next paragraph it says the contest ends Sept 1 (but doesn’t have a year). It also talks about there only being 3 kits and being sold at ROSE in Colorado. Since the next ROSE is in Utah, I’m guessing this information was from a previous year. When I do a search for the kit names I can’t find any photos of completed dolls, and there aren’t any on the kit sales page either. So either people bought the kits and didn’t submit any photos, or the kits didn’t sell. Maybe I can email and ask if they are still accepting photos. Can’t hurt to ask
@lynn
Does your certificate have any photos of the completed doll and artist name on it?
Oh gosh, I don’t know----I will try to find that out today, I will have to do some searching but I WILL find it and get back to you, OK?
I found it and this is what was sent with mine. I havr had these kits for quite some time so maybe they have a better one now with picture and name of artists on them, IDK. But anyway here you go.
Thank you for showing me. I was expecting something completely different. I thought it would at least has the dolls name on it or something. Now I’m curious as to what the certificates might look like now.
I bet they have chosen a name and picture by now and maybe have something that actually looks more like a certificate. I didn’t pay too much attention to this when I got it cause it wasn’t like getting a COA with a Limited Edition kit. I think you should definitely ask if the contest is still going on.
Yes I’ll ask when I place my order on Thursday. I’ve got to contact them anyway to see what on earth is holding up my last order, its been in “processing” status since the 21st. At this rate it’ll be next Christmas before I get my package lol.
I agree, They do look like Macphersons to meds well . Love the last one… Must go in search
Thank You Ladies.
I am just reading this post now!!
These are all manufactured at a very high quality German factory that is the same place that manufactures, Linda Murray’s , LDC, and many of our top doll artists kits. Their standards are the highest possible as far as the ingredients in vinyl goes. European standards are even higher than we have here in North America.
These are older sculpts that we have been given permission by both the owner of the molds and the artist to re-introduce in order to fund raise. These are not by Ann Timmerman or Elisa Marx…we have openly shown the artist name on each and every one of the images on our web-site. In fact most are done by Iris Klement who is very proud that we are using her sculpts for this worthy cause.
PLEASE before you post things like this in public I ask that you simply ask us and we will be more than happy to answer your questions honestly and openly. It is a very hurtful thing to post things like this without knowing the truth.
We work very hard to fund raise for this very reputable organization and to post something like this is really unfair…not only questioning our integrity but to the wonderful organization like Hope for the Nations.
Our next project we are helping to fund through the Little Hearts of Hope is to house young single Mommies using shipping containers and also to employ them in sewing clothing rather than living in the dump and selling them selves in order to survive.

It seems that you did not read through this thread before commenting so if you will look at the original post you will see that it was just photos of various kits so there was no way to know that they were being sold by you or any other reputable supplier at the time of the original post so asking for info from you would not have been possible at the point I commented because I had no idea where the photos came from.
As you are probably well aware, there are lots of knock offs on the market so it was just a suggestion made without any knowledge or background of were the photos came from…and I only said “they looked like” - did not say they were…because many of them do favour the work of known sculptors.
Dances clarified where she found the photos and at that point, if you will read further down you will see that I made another comment explaining why I had made my original comment and thanked her for clarifying .
That was back 4 - 5 months ago and I think if you will read through you will find that it was cleared up back then so sort of redundant to reactivate an old thread that has already been clarified but I do thank you for the added information. Very appreciated and I hope they are selling well…sounds like a very good cause…
ok thank you for clearing it up for me!!
We have been beaten up quite a bit lately on social media so it gets very time consuming reading through all the posts and perhaps I was over-reacting as this cause is very close to my heart
I am also not very savvy on how this all works on forums.
I am sorry for my reaction and thank you so much for your support!!!
hUgs Brenda XOXOXO
No worries at all…I can understand if you didn’t read further how it would have been upsetting…Sorry to hear that the social media has given you a hard time…It can be a very cruel world out there. I have to say that I for one appreciate all the reputable suppliers who work hard to keep the kits and supplies available for us so I have nothing but respect for those who genuinely work hard to provide great customer service and quality products…As soon as I heard that these photos were from MacPhersons, I felt very confident they were not reproduction kits - thus the follow-up comment thanking Dances…
Hope you have a lovely week end here……
