I donāt care for the mouth on the second picture. I love the baby, but not the mouth. I am NOT a fan of open mouths. I donāt mind a little bit open but I donāt like gaping ones. I donāt care for the look of the tongue in that one either. I just like more closed mouths better.

I have heard quite a few ladies say thatā¦I have several reborn artist friends that hate open mouths tooā¦

I love the first one not so much on the second
Iām crazy about that little Levi ~ the real baby AND the sculpt! She absolutely NAILED IT!

I like the first one but NOT the 2nd one. I have heard thatās the one that will be designated as the competition baby for the Reborn contest at ROSE next year. Can you imagine 80 something of that kit done at various levels of artistic skill? I wish theyād pic the first one or I might just have to only compete in the Realborn portion.

I agree with you both, I donāt like the mouths on twin A or B. I think those babies could have been so much cuter with mouths not open so much. JMO.

I like twin Aā¦ My daughter bought my granddaughter Pixie by Bonnie Brown a year or so ago and paid a lot of money for herā¦ close to $500.00. My granddaughter didnāt like her. My daughter asked me if I wanted Pixie a few weeks later and I jumped at the chance. I offered to pay for her but my daughter said no I could have her for $0!!! The pixie is gorgeous and I have renamed her Poppy Petunia! I am is in love with that sculpt! I did let my granddaughter pick out one of my reborns from my collection in exchange for Pixie. She was happy and I am thrilled!! I love the sculpts by Bonnie Brown!

Do you artists dislike open mouths because of painting or just because of how it looks? Iām asking as a collector, you see. I see a lot of artists say they prefer open eyes/hands, closed mouths, 20" or bigger etc. But if they all fit that description, they would all look the same

As a collector (and a reborn artist) I have to say that I think you should buy and collect what you likeā¦As a collector of over 30 years, I tend to go for the babies that are unique and different as well as Limited Editions. There are lots of beautiful babies out there and most ladies who are after a doll because they want a āpretty babyā may opted for the ones that I refer to as generically pretty (that is not meant in a negative way as lets face itā¦we all love pretty babiesā¦lol) So really, as as collector, if you are collecting for pleasureā¦just buy babies that you likeā¦doesnāt matter what others thinkā¦or if you are collecting for value purposesā¦I would go for limited editions,popular artist sculpts and uniquely different. I personally love the babies with āpersonalityāā¦If you have heaps of babies in a room, it is nice to look around and see different expressions and unique faces instead of just 'pretty sleepers and little open eyed beauties" - definitely have those in your collection as well itās nice to have a mixā¦and just remember the old moto - Beauty is in the eye of the beholderā¦

I love several of Bonnieās sculpts. Sheās very talented! However, I admit I have not liked some of the mouths she didā¦I bought Twin B, because I love twins, but was disappointed when I saw Twin Aās mouth. I also thought the second baby featured here was very realistic, but that mouth is a no go for me. I donāt say it to be meanā¦itās a matter of personal opinion is all. I would never want to hurt anyoneās feelings. I would love to get a Levi and an Ellie Sue.

Yes, lots of expressions are fabulous! I have owned only 3 reborns and I love open eyed ones but hate how their eyes collect dust which is why I lean towards sleepers in a way. But open eyes are my favorite at the same time. Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder when it comes to reborns.

I love Bonnies babies they are always so detailed. So much that she was the first non bountiful baby I ordered from. She had pre orders for pippin and I thought she is local to me and this baby is cute why not, so I ordered 2!
Then obviously Saoirse pre orders cameā¦ I ordered 4! Lol I needed a keeper. And every year I order one for me, she accidental sent me 5 twin B so I told her I would pay for the extra 2 she sent and keep them instead of sending them backā¦ Well I have none left I need more. Lol they are very popular custom orders at the moment.

My Twin A and Twin B will be here today! 
So excited. Iāve felt so left out. Everybody had Twin B but me 
NO MORE! I will have one! And I like Twin Aās mouth. I like that she can use soothie style pacifiers. They looks so darn cute.

Blissfulbabiesā¦yes I have Pixie and I absolutely love her. I couldnāt afford her either but as I mentioned in my previous post my daughter had bought her on eBay for my granddaughter about a year or two ago. My granddaughter didnāt like her so shortly after she bought Pixie she asked me is I wanted herā¦for free!!! I know that my daughter paid almost $500.00 for Pixie and in good conscience I couldnāt let her give the her to me for free so I offered my granddaughter to come and look at the reborns in my collection and pick one out that she liked. My granddaughter Kendall and I did a trade and we were both thrilled with our new babies!! That was over a year or so ago and to this day Pixie rules my nursery as the āfavoriteāā¦ LOL!! I wish I knew who did the reborning on her because she is gorgeous in person and her rooted hair is exceptional!! My picture do not do this baby justiceā¦she is so much more beautiful in persone! Her are a couple of pictures of my Pixie aka āPoppy Petuniaā!!
