Can you seal it before you apply washes?

What are you using for varnishing? I notice a lot of shine. Have you tried a matte?

Do you add corn starch to it, Katy? It helps reduce the shine more.

No

Thanks I’ll buy some tomorrow

If you use this recipe from @anjsmiles you can’t go wrong.

20 drops distilled water
1/4 teaspoon cornstarch
1 level teaspoon Soft Touch varnish
Dissolve cornstarch in water. Add varnish. Mix well and you’re good to go.
I stir it before applying to each body part as it tends to settle.

Yes I believe you can. I got the idea from an article I read on an artist that repaints monster high dolls and other vinyl dolls. She uses a spray sealer that requires wearing a mask. With asthma, I can’t use that type of sealer. I made my daughter in law a reborn doll using soft pastel chalk and sealed it with the sealer I use with waterborne air dry paint. I made that doll in November. I checked with her and she said so far the soft pastel chalk is holding up. I use an Emory board to grind soft pastel into powder. I have mixed different soft pastels to create different colors. I am still experimenting so i can’t guarantee anything. If anyone does try it, I would recommend using a test limb. Long term I don’t know if it fades or cracks. All I have to go by so far is the reborn I made for my daughter in law. I felt limited in colors so I decided to try soft pastels.

With waterborne sealer, I read you can use the sealer between washes.

Adorable!

My Kylin by LTR did that. No matter what I did, they wouldn’t stay. I must say, though, cross-eyed babies are very endearing.

My husband was born with crossed eyes and eventually had surgeries to correct them. His babies pictures are adorable!!

I say, keep 'em as they naturally want to go.
