Had a thin arm on my last baby Libby kit .So stuffed her arm when done baking as Amy I think suggested.worked.
Now just unboxed and washed Kimber kit…Im really disappointed
One arm is if straighten about 1 or 2 inches longer than other and one leg is very chubby all the wsy down the other thin all the way I know i can send it back and will… but will they reimburse my shipping? I hope so.What a pain!. Was looking forward to painting her tonirrow tooThe leg i could work with but this arm is crazy long.
Do they all say Kimber on them?
Didnt know each part was marked.ill have to look That one arm doesnt look like it goes with the other.
If you look closely at the pictures of the blank kit you can see that one forearm is noticeably longer than the other. The narrower leg is turned in the picture so you really can’t see that it’s a different size than the other one. I think if you ask for replacement limbs you’ll get the same thing unless they’re replaced with limbs from a different doll.
Did you actually measure the arms? I looked today at one of my kits and thought one arm is an inch longer but it was just an illusion. I measured it 10 times and they are the same.
They are listed in the parts and the legs and arms both say “Gemma/Blaze/Kimi/Rose/Kimber”
This is normal for most of their Kits I just done a realborn Kimberly who has one leg 2 inches longer then the other. Real babies are not perfectly proportioned. I have a daughter that has one long thumb and one short thumb and then on her right foot the toe next to her baby toe is the shortest of them all…See
So should i not bother with a return?i
Im really worried with this arm discrepancy how it will look.but Ludmilla I will measure. good idea but as you see in one photo both are sitting on their upper arm base and one arm is a LOT longer.
Im sure they have similar limbs they use for many of their dolls. If they order from a factory or have their own factory it wouldnt be as profitable to have machines set up to copy exact hands feet etc for each particular sculpt …easier to just add somewhat generic limbs to a certain heads. The legs im not too worried as i can over stuff one i guess butvyou can see at the knee area one looks swollen but other is smaller all the way down
The thumbs are a trait that runs in my family. My Grandmother, Her daughter and one son have the same thumbs one short and fat, one long and skinny…As far as I know no one in the family has the short toe so she is our little unique one
So glad you said measure!
BB have to appologize the arms … one is half inch off but i think must be an optical illusion to look so far different in size .They arent!
Also as you said on here …head has the name and number
.Parts all have the same number as head so all is right and long short …i can paint Kimber today!
So relieved…I wont question any more.
Again BB forum ladies helped me out a daily thing for me… Thanks again!!
When I first started to make dolls’ bodies, measured everything to be symmetrical to a mm. If not, I started again, and after while I had draw full of rejects, and then I realised it does not matter if one arm is set smidgen lower or more to the front, So I ended up using them when I had a baby the right size. Now I do not worry that much.
And one another thing, somebody being unhappy about doll’s face being lopsided; we are all lopsided. You know the old trick combining mirror images of left and right side.
Ice seen that done…The sides of the face.
i know we arent exact and im not picky really but those arms looked so off!
Thought for sure they added a wrong one.Im not thinking of selling it but who knows? i didnt want my dolls to look ■■■■ eyed in case i do.!
But must be an optical illusion.
There is a show called Brain Games They have had some amazing optical illusions on the show about features of people and other thngs.Fasinating.
Oh it is!! Have you ever seen actors kidding saying “wait take my good side!”?..because WE DO!!
