Is it okay to mottle after complextion layer?

Hi ladies! I’m currently working on Sam, slowly but surely  I have probably painted (pounced) 15 or so layers so far. I just finished a complexion layer proceeded by at least 6 mottle layers amongst other layers. After my complexion layer he looks like he could use more mottling. Is it okay to do more mottling after I’ve started on the complexion? I’m thinking yes but, he’s my first and I really want to make a beautiful baby. I will try to upload a picture in a bit. Thank y’all and God bless

There are a few pictures of little Sam. Does he seem to need more mottling? Any other suggestions?

Whoops… guess I got my mess in the pic too . If you look behind the pic of Sam’s legs you can see the colors I’ve put on him so far. Thank ya’ll for all your help! Big hugs! :relaxed:

Yes, some more mottling would look great! I think a wash or two of burnt umber would be nice. I assume creases blushing and nails are yet to come but those will breathe life into baby.

Thank you so so much! I did a light blue shading but, yes  yet to come. I don’t have burnt umber. Can I achieve that color from some I may already have?

Maybe brown brown?

Thank you Dolly! I will certainly give it a go! I found a great color set yesterday but, I’ll have to wait until next week to order. In the mean time I will add a few more mottle layers and attempt to create burnt umber. I want to get little Sam finished! I can’t wait to see how he turns out!! I’ve got so many other babies in need of tlc! I think I will work on a Berenguer next. They don’t seem to be as popular anymore but, they are so precious!
