When im painting my doll with blue i see tiny blue specks whcih turn out to be pigment. What can i do? Im using gamsol odourless thinner and vein blue as a mottling layer
Her paints do not dissolve fully in odorless thinner. You have to add either some of her thinning medium to the mix as well or just use the paint with her Liquithin thinner. HOWEVER, I did find in my testing that if you added some of the Xodus Heatset thinning oil to the paint then it would dissolve well in solvent. This is because the Xodus thinning oil is not a traditional oil. It is a synthetic heat set oil.

I had the same experience as Angie, it doesn’t dissolve in thinner, but it wouldn’t dissolve all the way for me in thinning medium or liquithin either, i still had specks. I mixed it with xodus thinning oil and it dissolves well in that.

I don’t know that I really played a lot with the blue. I never went as far as painting a baby with the paints. Just testing colors on pieces of vinyl.
