I just spent FOUR DAYS working on eyebrows

Yes, you read it right…4 days. And if I’m truthful, more like 5 days.

Who does that???

First they were the perfect shape, I loved them sooooo much. Baked them, moved on. Set the head on the shelf and didn’t look at it again till Tuesday. Came downstairs Tuesday morning and oops…on closer inspection, one eyebrow was about thismuch higher than the other. Okay, added a little more to the “lower” brow, baked. Looking good. Happy with brows now. Set aside, paint arms.

Wednesday, got up, went to look at the head on the shelf. Crap. Brows are too big now – stripped, using Winsor & Newton. Carefully, removing JUST the brows…well, and some paint underneath.

Layer, layer, layer, bake, bake, bake…time to do brows again. Set aside because this took most of the afternoon and lost my light.

Thursday ~ once again, using prisma pencils, carefully making sure the brows are even, not too long, not too dark, same width from nose to eye on both sides. Bake.

Okay, they look GOOD…YAY…GO ME!!! Set aside, do other stuff. Forget about it…

Until this morning. ACK!!! NO. WAY. Brows are much too dark in the early morning sunlight.

MUCH TOO DARK.

Stripped again, started over AGAIN.

Layer, layer, layer, bake, bake, bake, building skin tones to match. FINALLY, one more time, using prisma pencil, one teeny tiny stroke at a time, measuring as I go, making sure they are PERFECT, and they are DONE.

OMG. And people have the nerve to ask for a free reborn. We SHOULD be charging a thousand dollars EACH and UP!

If you got this far, thanks for reading. If you didn’t that’s okay, too, cuz I love you anyway.

Lololololol! Karen, they’re done. Very few people have perfect eyebrows. It’s not really funny, but the way you described it is!

I thought I might be going INSANE, seriously…eyebrows NEVER take that long to do. In fact, they usually come quite easily to me, unlike some other parts of reborning. OMG. Talk about ready to throw a head out the window!

You are too funny, Karen! Loved your story and can totally relate. It’s not always brows that happens on, but we can all relate.

I can also relate! So glad they’re perfect now.

I am bad about it taking between hours to days getting them right and even. Getting better with each baby. Ive learned to not bake till im satisfied.

I will never bake again until I’ve looked at them in sunlight, for sure.

Ummmmm…ME!!!

I HATE doing brows and have spent TONS of DAYS working on them!!! I could
count on ONE hand the times I’ve actually done them in less than 6-8 hours…

I think I’m crazy!!!

But I can’t NOT do it…they drive me nuts if they aren’t close to my “vision”
of how they should be!!!

Eyebrows are so key to expressing who the babies are that I could see it happening. The perfectionist in me would have to do just what you did😩 Results are worth it tho, right?

I had a feeling I wasn’t alone here  You’d think after 14 years of this I’d get it right on the first try every time, but NOPE, just doesn’t work that way for me.

Feeling much better about her AND her eyebrows this morning, took a look at her little head sitting on the shelf today and she looks fine. Bald, but fine. Moving on to hair today!

Gracie, my little trouble maker.

I suggest you paint your brows, leave them for a couple days and then bake them, LOL. That way you can obsess freely without stripping paint ! LOL. I’m only sort of joking.

Just for comparrison, i got back a baby i did when i first started out. She was rooted with mohair but her mommy wants human now. She wasnt very good so i had given her away to my MIL. anyways, i was looking at her eyebrows and felt embarrased lol. I asked my MIL if she like her eyebrows and she thought they were fine. I think they are aweful! Me thinks while i have her bald i will be , cough, cough, redoing her brows
