…when it comes to getting what I need for my babies. Last night, I went to dinner with a friend. Our server (total stranger) had very long, soft wavy hair. I told her I wanted some of it for my reborn dolls. Since she didn’t run away screaming, I showed her pictures of some of my babies. She said she’s going to be cutting off about 5 inches in the near future and that I can have it. THEN, I had the gall to tell her how to cut it so it wouldn’t get tangled. She took my business card and said she’d call me when she has it. And…she said she might want a portrait doll done of her son using her hair. My friend was laughing so hard I was afraid she’d choke. It’s not the first time I’ve done it. A man in our local hardware store grew his hair specifically for me and gave it to me. The nurse in my doctor’s office gave me her adult daughter’s hair (about 10 inches long) when she cut it. So, see, if you have a little chuzpah, you can get free human hair for your babies. And to think I used to be self conscious taking my babies out in public! LOL

My adult granddaughter got all her friends to donate hair to me. I have 6 ponytails of soft, shiny, silky hair I know I will use. Some that I couldn’t use because it was course works great for eyelashes. I also have no shame. LOL
I’ve gotten to the point to where I go out and I see a baby I get really close looking at them to get ideas on future kits. The looks I get… One lady asked if she could help me and I bolted! Lol I’m brave until someone notices.
You go girl, I have done something very similar and you just never know. Good for you.

I asked an older lady hair with white gray hair if I could have her hair. She was cutting it off and i said I needed it for my grandpa doll I am redoing. She looked at me funny but said yes.

I have a strange ceramic doll that’s made with a bunch of students’ hair…weirdest thing I’ve ever made 
I did not ask a single one of them for it! But fun/strange things are contagious, and they wanted in 
I also had two girls come to me this year, super excited, saying, “Ms. G! We have something for you!” And…it was a Ziploc bag full of tangled hair from their hairbrushes…bahahaha!

LOLOL! You can use it yourself. I usually have short hair but I’m growing it to use on a doll. It’s almost long enough to cut.
LOL. I have All the rooting supplies and mohair I need, but all I’ve done is paint hair…I Love it. 
I did take the plunge and root eyelashes on my last one and love it, but I need a practice head for rooting…I want to learn to map and such. TY for the Laugh!!
