But I saw you finished your Camilla silicone so that was great progress!
I look forward to seeing her in Kansas! I wanted to get one but just a bit tight for me right now.
I have to go sell stuff first! LOL!
There wasn’t much to do to finish here so I didn’t even count that as progress!
I hope I make it to your booth early enough to buy a bag!
You will have to tell me who you are when I see you! I am terrible knowing who’s who.
So this is how it goes with self taught sewing. I have never sewn a zipper in anything in my life. There is a gal I follow on YouTube named Chelsea of “She Sews Seams.” After watching many of her videos, I decided to try my hand at sewing in zippers yesterday. I tried a couple different methods and have figured out what does and does not work for me. Two bags look fairly decent and the last one I had issues with my zipper slipping, so it is very crooked inside and out. That bag is still functional, just not as pretty and well done. I learned from it though what I want to do differently, and I think I have a handle on this now. Rather than trying to sew the zipper sandwiched between the outer bag and inner bag lining the way she teaches, I am finding that I do better to sew my zipper down first, then go back and sew the lining over it with finished seams. As they say, I learned a lot about what not to do!
LOVE that you did zippers on them!!! I think they look good!!!
I love the zipper bags! You did wonderful!
Kudos to you for learning! I am glad that you found what work the best.
Zippers are very hard to sew for me ![]()
Did you pin and baste it before stitching? That helps immensely for keeping it in place while you sew.
Those are so cute
the tutorial I was following did not do it that way but as I tried different things I did figure out that indeed basting it first is going to be the most successful way for me. The one where I did it that way turned out the best.
I love the lemons!!! So cheery!!
