How to do...?

I realize that twisted has this doll protected so it can’t be copied… But… How would one go about painting this way? I love it… But haven’t a clue how to accomplish :thinking::thinking:

That’s kind of what I wanted to do for Jasper. Maybe the same technique as blushing?

I would love to know! Maybe @Madison or @allhisgrace will know!

I don’t think anyone can prevent or protect a way they paint a baby. They may not disclose how they did it but your legally ok to try to paint in the same way. I guarantee it will look different, anyway, as it’s difficult for us to repeat our own work.

Nikki, you could ‘create’ like that using powders and paint. The powders blend extremely well.

To me, it just looks like she used many layers of color in certain spots, to created the whimsical skintones. I do this all the time. I think it would be very easy to get this effect. I’m happy to help anyway I can. I use air dry though.

As a side note: I encourage artist to look at other artist work for inspiration. Even if you tried to copy that exactly (which I know you wouldn’t… I’m just using an example) it would be completely different. It would be YOURS. That’s why most artist with a distinct style look so unique. It’s their own. It’s very hard to even duplicate your OWN work, much less someone else’s… So I would look at that picture as I’m painting. You’ll probably be wonderfully amazed at what you create!

Yeah, I’m thinking powders are the way to go and this sweet color fading has me interested in a fairy and I NEVER thought I’d say THAT. Not much for alternate dolls but never say never

I signed up for the online powder class but haven’t gotten my stuff yet.

I would think it would be easy to do with Genesis also…
I think you could just lay the color down in the areas you want with small
brushes and then pounce to blend…

I would do it in layers though to achieve the color intensity desired.

I wonder how to make sure the colors don’t bleed together… I guess do a color and bake, repeat! Lol :grinning:

No…you should be able to do multiple colors and blend the edges together.

I do it myself when blushing…I will use my blush color and then blue
for thin skin areas and sometimes yellow/orange for nose and upper cheek
area.

Looks pretty normal to me Nik, just looks like a lot more blue undertones and white eyebrows and accents. Looks pretty easy. You could use any color scheme you wanted!! Isn’t she the cutest thing???
