What are our thoughts? Super sad about Rose but kinda excited about the possibility of new Genesis paints. I wish him much luck with his retirement.

Yea, I saw it tonight and parts of it is a bit odd to me. I also was unclear as to whether his Pratt paints are an attempt at recreating Genesis or if they were a fail from another manufacturer and he later will try something new? I have not tried them but from what I read here others did not seem to impressed with them. There is also a patent on Genesis paints so even if one can clone them is that actually legal? Also, if they could be cloned and produced seems like Genesis would have not given up. As I remember, the main issue was a key ingredient is no longer available… Many questions…

Bountiful Baby won’t be manufacturing heat set paints (sorry if my choice of words was inaccurate on that). Bountiful Baby has been working with a company that is thinking of manufacturing heat set paints. I assumed they had reverse engineered the formula in their lab, but I don’t really know.

Well there went the tiny bit of good news. But then again, it could have been worse news.
So what was everyone’s take away from that communication, ROSE is moving to the EAST coast? Does this mean that they will NO Longer be having A ROSE doll show out here in the West anymore? Opinions please.
Yes. It means that rose will not be in Utah or be put on by bountiful baby nor does he think it will be a success without a lot of help.

It honestly makes no sense to me. Sense DOTWE is already on the east coast, doing rose there will only cause both shows to lose money

I would agree. We desperately need one on the west coast. At least for Rose it only took a day for me to drive there.

Bummer about rose! I was really hoping they would have one this year. I wonder how profitable DOTWE was in comparison with Rose. Maybe Truborns had more luck?

Profitable enough that they immediately decided to go for a bigger venue 
. Which is great because the crowding was insane. I’m glad I was behind a table for it!

I don’t know why he said that. If Sarah Mellman is taking over Rose, she would be the one to ask about location. Sure, a couple of years ago she would have said east coast because that’s where she lives and that’s where people had been asking for a show. But now with DOTWE and Yophi, the east coast is covered. I’ve discussed this personally with Sarah within the past year and she said nothing about east coast. I will let her announce her own plans. But I can assure you, several months ago her plan was somewhere else….Far from the east coast.

I sure hope that’s how things shake out. I haven’t been able to go to Kansas because it’s back to school week for us. Having two shows in June is just going to hurt our community. Do you know if she has a timeline of when she’ll be ready to talk about things?
Honestly, she’s been super quiet on social media for a very long time. She won’t even respond to any of us about whether or not we can share pics of our prototypes from a couple of years ago. She also clearanced all the kits on her EKK site and doesn’t appear to be restocking. I was actually surprised when Nevin said she’s taking Rose. Sure, she was willing to do that a couple of years ago when they discussed it. But now she’s so unplugged from the reborn community that I don’t know how she could possibly jump back in and put on a trustworthy show. This whole situation is weird.
