Morning ladies, I was wondering if anyone has done (or is working on) Saskia? I thought about buying the kit but then I was reading something about the eyes-----people having difficulties with them. Has anyone on our forum encountered this? I hate placing eyes period and if this is going to be a pain in the butt then I may not get the kit!
ther is one on eBay …adorable …also somebody finished one and has the photos here in forum as well.
I have the kit and it is adorable . I just had to order another one for myself
I love myself ha ha ha …
She’s on my wish list!
Yes I bought the kit. Looks like a big edition. (1605) I think I will be trying different sizes and types of eyes to see which will be more suitable. Got a couple of dolls to make before this one and then I can take my time with her. It does say size 22 but I will try 20’s as well.
I just started her today…didn’t know about any eye issues…she has her first flesh coat on…but after she
is baked…I will put some eyes in just to see how they look!!!
The flat back glass eyes work best. 20mm fit well .I tried the 22mm but it opened the eye too much. It is easy to insert the eyes from the front when the vinyl is still very warm. They just pop in.
When putting eyes in from the front, how are they secured? Is glueing them to keep them from moving still needed?
They fit very snug and do not need gluing.
Thanks, Mary. Is it possible to get the eyes in a sideways glance and keep them in snug without glueing, if placed while the vinyl is warm?
While the head is warm and the eyes newly inserted I push them to the side and they stay, They eye pocket in the back cools around the eyes and it holds that shape.
That’s good to know. Thanks!
Macphersosn was working today as well at list Brenda she was answearing emails so hope they will ship your kit soon…I am working on her and she is adorable
For the eyes you can fit a little Polly fiber first then pop in the eyes while the kit is warm
