We have created a Forum Help topic to refer to for any help related to using, getting around or becoming familiar with ‘how to’s’ on this forum.

Any questions that are posted to this topic, will be made into a new topic to be replied to. However, the answer, will be reposted here for future users or reference to the ‘Forum Help’ topic.

NOTIFICATIONS:

For each category there is a little drop-down menu to the right of the ‘+ Create Topic’ button. You have four options. WATCHING, TRACKING, REGULAR and MUTED.

You also have these same options per topic, not just categories. Once your within a topic, at the bottom of the thread, right under where the ‘REPLY’ button is located, there is a drop down menu with these options.

GETTING NOTIFICATIONS:

In the top right corner, you should see this:
The ‘quote’ bubble is where you should see your notifications. This is where you will get notifications for Personal Messages, Badges you are granted, Categories and Post Topics that you have set to be notified about. (NOTE: If you set a category or topic to be MUTED, you will not see those topics in the LATEST, NEW, UNREAD, etc. tabs.)

TOPIC, POST and CATEGORY ORDERING:

If you look to the far right side of the screen, there is an ‘activity’ column, topics will be in line from top to bottom with the most resent activity.

You account also tracks which posts you’ve already read. Any posts that you have not looked at yet will have a blue circle that says ‘new’ next to the topic. The account also has, across the top of the list of threads, a menu containing LATEST, NEW, UNREAD, TOP and CATEGORIES.

LATEST: Will show you the topics that contain the most recent posts. (NOTE: This is similar to the ‘View Active Topics’ button at the top of the old forum.)

NEW: Will show you the new posts since that last time you were in.

UNREAD: Will show you all the posts that you have not read yet.

TOP: Will show you the posts are determined by both, having the most post replies and the most recent activity.

CATEGORIES: Shows you a list of all the categories. (NOTE: This was how the old forum board index was laid out.)

If you notice, under the ‘Activity’ field, There are two columns each with different time amounts. The left side column is when the topic was created. And the right side column is when the most recent post within the topic was posted.

However, I took this snapshot of a topic before there were any replies.

Although there was no other replies at the time, The topic was created ‘12m’ ago, but, whereas there were no replies, the ‘1m’ was when the topic had been edited last.

When your inside the topic, you might see this sometimes. :

Click on the orange number/pencil to see who it’s been edited by.

AVATAR and PROFILE BACKGROUND PHOTOS

  1. Click the avatar in the top right corner of the screen
  2. Go to ‘Preferences’.
  3. For AVATAR: Click Edit > You have the option to have the system assign you a Gravatar, generate a Gravatar based on you username or email or add a custom picture, where you can upload an image. For PROFILE BACKGROUND: You can upload an image.

USERNAME:

If you would like your Username changed, Personal Message me that you would like it changed and what you would like it changed to be.

POSTING IMAGES and VIDEOS

You can simply Drag and Drop and image you wish to post into the text box.

If the image is too large, you will get a notification telling you what the max image size is.

If the file type is not supported, you will get a notification telling you the supported file types.

POSTING VIDEO LINKS!

If you want to post a video, simply copy and past the video share link from youtube. The video will automatically upload itself to the forum.

If you wish to get EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS:

  1. Click your avatar > and go into ‘Preferences’.
  2. There, you will find an EMAIL section, where you can choose to receive email notifications as desired.

Start typing a colon punctuation ( : ) and then a word…for example:

:baby :baby:
:guitar :guitar:
:question :question:
:cupid :cupid:
:dizzy_face :dizzy_face:
:strawberry :strawberry:
:neutral_face :neutral_face:
:mag_right :mag_right:

and so on…

…and then it’ll bring up a selection under that word and after you select one, it’ll automatically close it with a colon. ( : baby : )

(If you hold your mouse over an emotion or smiley for a few seconds, It’ll tell you what was typed to get that emotion. :smile:

DISMISS UNREAD and NEW topics

At the very bottom of the topic list, there is a ‘Dismiss’ button.

Located in bottom right corner. NOTE: If there are several hundred…It may take a few minutes of ‘scrolling down’ and having the page load new topics until you reached the bottom.

You can also see this for NEW topics as well.

IDENTIFYING or MENTIONING someone in a post.

Type the @ sign followed by a user’s username, @bbsupport and that user will receive a notification that they were mentioned in a post.

CLEARING BROWSER CACHE FILES
There might be an occasion where your browser cache is too full to load the data of a website. This could be resulting to the website not loading or ‘allowing’ your to get onto the website.

You might want to try 'Clearing Browser Data"

For Chrome:

  1. Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
    Select Tools.
  2. Select Clear browsing data.
  3. In the dialog that appears, select the checkboxes for the types of information that you want to remove.
  4. Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete.
  5. Click Clear browsing data.

For Firefox:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Preferences
  2. Select the Advanced panel.
  3. Click on the Network tab.
  4. In the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now.

For Internet Explorer:

  1. Select Tools (via the Gear Icon) > Safety > Delete browsing history
  2. Make sure to uncheck Preserve Favorites website data and check both Temporary Internet Files and Cookies then click Delete.
  3. You will get a confirmation at the bottom of the window once it has successfully cleared your cache and cookies.

For Safari:

  1. From the Safari menu, select Reset Safari…
  2. From the menu, select the items you want to reset, and then click Reset.

Next you could try updating the Version of The browser you are trying to use:

Download Updated Version of Safari
Download Updated Version of Chrome
Download Updated Version of Internet Explorer

RESETTING YOUR PASSWORD

  1. Click on your profile image, located in the top right hand corner and go to Preferences.

  2. You will see a button to “Send Password Reset Email”.

  3. Go to your email and open the email from [Bountiful Baby Customer Forum].

  4. Click the link in the email and follow the instructions to create a new password.
