I would get inspired by watching them and getting books on them, monkeys and elephants have always been my favorite animals, so I would read about them often. Are you making a fun monkey or one to look more realistic? You can have so much fun either way. Oh and on the eyes, I like to make the whites of the eyes really dark like brown or black, it gives them a deep look. I am here for you if you need me.
My goodness those monkeys are fabulous! The tree, is it decorated for Christmas?
Thank you, That is KoKo, the real KoKo died earlier this year, it was the first to learn sign language.
That one is the Halloween Tree but I used to decorate one for every season, New Years, Valentine, St Patty’s Day, Easter, 4th of July, 911, football baseball, black and white, just about anything I could think of. HaHa
That’s so cool! Ancient times, people would decorate trees in the forest or erect maypoles. I regret not decorating as much. We used to decorate for the holidays when I was a kid. I told my kids about Koko this week! She was very intelligent and knew the way to her favorite places to eat.
That’s sooooo cool!!! Love it!!!
She was quite unique, she had a good life and many people who loved her. I guess I would fit right in the forest. Lol
I would too! She had a very good life.
I loved my trees, had therm for a number of years, but I don’t have the space now. But still have many together on my shelf.
I actually got sad that you don’t have them now!
I need more space, Grammy’s closet and house is full, so full I needed to take my trees down, but I have many of my monkey friends and the others are with the Grandkids.
This is NOT my work -but a lady had these pics of her monkey on fb and it was adorable -it doesn’t have a lot of hair I don’t think - but most realistic I ve seen of bindi -
How cute!! I believe his hair is painted…
I have made dozens of chimps and gorillas. That rooting makes me crazy. Here are 2 I have photos of on my phone.
So cute with the painted hair. Great idea for children.
I love the painted hair! I bought Bonnie and Clyde chimp kits for my boys several months ago since they are so cheap at MacPherson. Then it dawned on me, one of my boys has allergies and extremely sensitive skin. So the kits got thrown in the bin til I find a suitable alternative for mohair. I’m not great at painting hair yet. But those monkeys would make great test subjects.
