Here’s a question: do we need to make a specific character OR can it be just an alternative? Like just as an example, could someone just do a fairy or a clown baby?

This is supposed to be a Character from a T.V show, Movie, Cartoon Character, or Book, and you have to send in a picture of the Character that you are making the kit to look like. So no you can’t just submit a baby clown or a fairy without submitting a picture of a character fairy or character clown that you are making to be a look a like match.
If you want to do a fairy, think about Tinkerbell and friends or an elf character from Lord of the Rings.
If you want to make a clown baby think about Bozo the clown are search famous circus clowns. Or maybe do Joker from Batman (that would be cool to see lol)

Random question if the character in question has a certain outfit they wear… and it has gloves should we try to find baby gloves in that color or would painting the hands that color be okay?

Use you imagination and get creative, I think I would either try to find gloves of that color or make them. I don’t know If I would paint the hands that color but if you can’t find gloves or make then, then go for it paint the hands the color you need.
That would be personal choice on how you create your baby to look like the character of your choice.

Give it a go anyway…you may surprise yourself! It is mostly just for fun anyway…we don’t give gifts and prizes for our challenges and swaps on this forum because it keeps everything friendly and nice…It has always been the rule/policy and has worked well in keeping our forum free of hard feelings, hurt feeling and jealous annoyance that can arise when it appears that one is favoured above another so …just join in and have fun…We are all different levels of skills…The number of years you have been reborning doesn’t make a person better…There can be some one who has reborn for 2 years who has done 200 dolls who is more ‘experienced’ than another who has been reborning 10 years and done 50 dolls. and some people are naturally artistic so will advance sooner than others as well…lol This challenge is one for the imagination as much as anything else so your skill will be judged more on your imagination and how well you can portray it than on your ‘reborning’ skills so to speak (though you do have to ‘reborn’ the doll…) 
So come on and join the fun! It is going to be so neat seeing what everyone comes up with…
