New here… I have mostly been lurking and finally decided to make an account. This is my first baby, made by a wonderful artist who I now realize after a lot of research greatly undersold this girl. She is so well made and throughout the whole buying process and follow up after purchase, I could tell how much love and care went into making this baby. Now I have a new friend in the artist and she doesn’t mind when I send her pictures every now and then.
She’s beautiful! A lot of people don’t realize what goes into making a quality reborn. It is good that you have learned that. Welcome to the forum. This hobby is addictive. There are so many here to help you. Just ask!
Welcome to the forum! You baby-girl is stunningly beautiful and her artist is very talented!
Her eyebrows and painted hair is gorgeous and her skin tone is amazing! You are a lucky mommy!
I wasn’t sure if I would like the combi hair type, but it’s my favorite now. No problems to keep tidy but still looks more realistic than just painted hair. I have to remind myself not to pet her head too much!
Thank you! I have bought two more dolls (yep addicting hobby for sure) and one was twin B, she was poorly weighted, wrong body, and hair all matted. I knew she had those issues when I bought her though so I had planned to fix her up a bit.
I got her the correct body from BB, weighted her, added a magnet for a pacifier, and restored the mohair and gave her a bit of a hair cut. I’m going to attempt stripping her lips and redoing them because they were a bit sloppy and not a flattering color.
The other doll I made a huge mistake buying and she’s very low quality for the price. My bad for not asking more questions and asking for closer pictures, but her reviews on Etsy were good. I left an honest (but kind) review and now I learned what else to ask for. She would be great for a kid’s doll but she’s not an adult collector for sure. I’m going to reweight her as well and fix her lips up too. The more I have her the more I like her but I was very disappointed initially. I’ll like her a lot more once she’s heftier. She’s a chunky gal. Not sure if I will keep her or gift her yet. Depends how I feel after her alterations.
I ordered two kits and when they get here I’ll going to try my hand at painting them myself. I paint watercolor so I am optimistic and constantly researching. I’m very excited. They will be for myself or my friends. I’d like to finish a doll for my niece and save her for when she’s older, as she’s only just about 3.
