Can I mix blue and red to make dioxazine purple?

Hi ladies! I’m about to add some mottling to Sam and I was wondering if I can create dioxazine purple or is this a color I have to buy? Thank y’all :slight_smile:

I would say you can mix up a purple color that will work.

I use eyelid purple but that would work too

Thank y’all :blush:! I’ve read that dioxazine purple has more translucent properties. Can’t that just be achieved by diluting the paint or is it something special?

Do y’all know why that color is talked about so much? Why not just purple (I realize purple has a broad spectrum)?! Sorry, probably sounds silly :yum:! I’m a newbie so, I’m just wondering :smirk: Does it give your baby an added dimension over simply mixing up a color similar?

I was able to buy a primary paint set from the nursery I buy my paint. I’m hoping I’ll be able to make tons of neat shades :blush::blush::blush:
