You could ask for a money order instead. Those have to be purchased with cash and made out to you before they are sent. You can then put the bby in reserve as the sale is pending.

Thank you @beck, @RebornsbyZebra, and @YelenaRey…I learned something new…I have wanted a PayPal acct but I did not want to have another credit card.:blush: now I dont have to.

It’s like getting money. Probably just as safe as PayPal. The person has payed the money to get the check just like a money order. She is at more risk than you really.
