Your explanation make perfect sense, that’s exactly how I get the ones in that I’m able. It seems like with stretching the limbs are easier to get in, but the head one seems like it’s sewn smaller.
I just wish when they are made that someone would measure the head of a zip tie and make it wide enough to fit!
I didn’t know that it was a big deal either! I know some people do it, but to me it’s kind of a silly thing to be picky about. I do use the small heads. To me, strings would be the only big no no. If I bought a doll, even with large zip ties like macs, I wouldn’t even mind that. Lol. I only began to change mine a few years ago when I realized people actually minded! I thought it was the norm if Macpherson would send it.
I think it’s easier to get the doll back apart when the cable tie head is visible. You can snip into it instead of digging down into the flange for the skinny part.
This is exactly what I do too! I also purchased some little pointy tipped tweezers from Amazon like you use for fine electronic work. They are non-magnet attracting.
True. All my BB zips are very small. It’s just channel that they go thru not big to hide a head.
You people must be getting smaller zip ties then me with your BB bodies. Here is a picture of a BB body with zip ties next to the ones I use. BB zip ties are not small.
Are you sure that is from BB? My Mac’s bodies come like that, the zip tie already started and it’s big, but my BB bodies come with these small ones and they aren’t started yet. I’ve never gotten a BB body with those big zip ties.
I saw a rant someone made on dollfan years ago about a doll they bought and in it said that the artist was so bad that the tie heads weren’t even tucked in. I always made sure from then on! lol
I have a new paranoia now I will tuck them if I can.
Yup, mine are BB bodies with zip ties. Your BB body has the same size as mine. Now the Mac zip ties, those are ridiculous! I don’t understand why a good company like that would drop the ball with their zip ties.
Never in almost 5 years BB body came to me with those giant heads. The always have zips with small heads. I think it’s not BB body.
Why would to change to a bigger cable with an all plastic head instead of the smaller ones with the metal closure?
I do use those for kits I buy there, it was just a pet peeve with BB bodies specifically, I prefer the shape of BB bodies, but the zip tie issue drives me crazy. I was kind of hoping tagging BB would make them aware, if no one had every complained about it they might not know and it’s something they might be able to fix.
Not change to bigger zips but make it easy to put in the zip .Were the Zip gow true is mutch to small
Before i always cut of some of the end of the zip and pul in the rest so that is hidden , But now can do that anymore because it is mucth mucth too thin !
Were the zipper gioed true must be a little wider .
You can see it her i cut of the end of the zipper and leave a bit that i than pul in but now it wil not work anymore

I noticed the zip ties from the other place were like that too. I generally use them while I am working because you can release them with a pin. I then swap the micro ties out when I have everything all done. But yeah it’s a bummer that they ship those large ties. Like here are your ties go spend more money to get what you really need.
