Almost had a sale

I got an email from someone who said they wanted to buy my Matthew. She wanted to pay with a money order and wanted to know when he would arrive. Her address was just a first name, street with no Rd., Ave., or St.,. and just California with no city or zip code. I emailed her back to let her know I only accept postal money orders and asked for the rest of the shipping information. I haven’t heard from her since. I’m disappointed because I could really use a sale right now. Why would someone go to the trouble of wasting my time? Nothing else to do?

As soon as I saw her address red flags went up. I don’t think I’ll hear from her again. Her email address had 004 after her name and before the @ symbol. Two other people who have contacted me with emails with a number like that in them were not legitimate.

I’m having issues with a girl and my Asher. Stuff like “does answer sucks a bottle” and " I am waiting on my check please hold her for me"… Etc etc

If my husband wouldn’t KILL me, I would have you wrap up Naomi and rush her to me. Something about that little sweetie calls me, Mandy! She wont last long❤️

They get our hopes up, then nothing…:frowning:

@Neenee13 that’s so sweet! So far she has not had any interest lol

And yea I think these people just get our hopes up on purpose.

I have a lady on from eBay sending me numerous emails asking if my baby will be relisted if there are no bids on her. From what I can see, she makes an offer and ebayers take it and then she goes and redresses the dolls, takes new pictures of them and sales them for way more than she bought them for. I have seen 6 so far that she has done that way. She says something like “I bought this reborn from an artist here on eBay about 2 weeks ago and I just have too many babies so that’s why I have to sell her.”

She even had one reborn that she said “this was bought here on eBay and it’s not the best work, so that’s why I’m starting the bidding so low”…

Omg this infuriates me to no end!

Has anyone had this happen to them?

Well at least she isnt selling them as her own.!

I guess to me as long as i got the money i asked i dont think id care too much. .but thats me and im pretty new Just want the sale…lol
.It Would be nice however if she put the artist she bought the doll from in her ad…
If she can make a profit good for her .

That’s just it, she doesn’t want to pay the price that I want. I have listed my reborn for sale 3 times already and each time she will send me a message inquiring about the doll. This time when I posted it again she asked me if I would resist it with the best offer option. I have discounted the doll more than I am comfortable with as it is and won’t be compensated for my time spent making the doll. I’ve decided that I’m going to hold on to it until the holidays when I know it will sell.

Stay firm on what you want for it. If people are buying them from her for more money, it stands to reason they’ll buy it from you for more money. Just tell her no and wait.

Yes I agree. She is hounding me. I want to say to her so bad that I’m not hard up for money and that this is a hobby first and I don’t need her best offer. My time spent making the reborns is worth something too!!!

Just tell her you’re sorry but your prices are no longer negotiable. She can pay the asking price that you believe the baby is worth or look elsewhere.

I sent her a message and said and I quote “I may consider resisting, but I must explore other options as I have spent 40 plus hours creating this reborn. Keep watching! Thanks!”

And that is that. I don’t get it. People think that we are going to spend hours creating a reborn and want them for little or nothing… I’m sorry, even if I was in a crunch for money I would still have an issue with selling too low… My time is valuable and I’m doing the work… She is just reselling.

This is what she just sent me… Yet another email… What else can I do but just ignore her?

You spent so much time on her but she’s only worth what someone is willing to or gonna pay for her. Sadly.

You are not a wholesaler. You are not making a product for someone else to sell. Do you know if she got close to what you’re asking price was?

I doubt it. I didn’t ask her. I dropped the price to 199.00 so I can imagine what her offer would be. I’m not selling it for 100.00

Tell her to F off lol. Sorry :innocent:
