Using burnt umber with bit of yellow

I’ve been trying to get the golden glow skin tone look. I have managed it in the past, not sure how I achieved it lol.

Anyway long story short I’m painting Fei Yen. I’ve been using burnt umber with a little yellow. The kit now looks to orange. If I use some burnt umber with a little blue added will that fix it?

I’ve already baked. Would prefer not to have to strip and start again

For a kit that is too orange, you will want to carefully correct with very thin layers of blue. Burnt Umber goes very orange. I have found that Genesis burnt umber is more orange-brown than true brown. I always add a touch of ultramarine blue to mine when using it.

I stripped it lol. I figured the blue washes may not work, probably easier to strip and start again. I’m staying away from burnt umber this time x

I will post when he/she is finished. I don’t do well with the darker tones. May stick to a Caucasian skintone. We shall see

Do you know if I can use half round eyes on a kit that says to use oval?

For Lola is says 22mm oval, if I used half round would it be 20mm or 22mm

I always use whatever eyes I like… you can interchange oval for half round.
I usually go up a size with eyes because I like less white to show… but try both and see what you think!
Ovals are smaller , so I usually go up a size when ordering them.
