When you root a bigger toddler’s head do you still do the swirl or do you map the hair differently than a newborn size head?

I’m getting ready to do Tibby and not sure if I want to root her or use a wig. I wish I could do a wig, but I’m so afraid the wig will look strange. I would really like to know how the wigs look on her before I go that route.

If I root her I really want her to have small piggy tails. If you do the swirl will you still be able to put the hair in piggy tails?
