Grandpa/Santa and Grandma/Mrs. Santa measurements

Since BB has been out of stock on these bodies, I have been asked if I would make them for a customer. My problem is that I do not have either kit and have never had one of the bodies.

I would really appreciate it if someone who has either of these kits and/or one of these bodies would take some measurements for me. Even if you only can provide a few measurements, it would be awesome! Basically, I need the following -

Diameter of Santa’s arms (above the groove)
Diameter of Mrs. Santa’s arms (above the groove)

Diameter of Santa’s legs (above the groove)
Diameter of Mrs. Santa’s legs (above the groove)

Measurement from neck to crotch on Santa’s body
Measurement from neck to crotch on Mrs. Santa’s body

Length of Santa’s cloth arm from neck to arm casing
Length of Mrs. Santa’s cloth arm from neck to arm casing

Length of Santa’s cloth leg from crotch to leg casing
Length of Mrs. Santa’s cloth leg from crotch to leg casing

Those measurements are below:

Diameter of Santa’s arms is 1 3/8 inches.
Diameter of Mrs. Santa’s arms is 1 1/4 inches.

Diameter of Santa’s legs is 3 inches.
Diameter of Mrs. Santa’s legs is 2 inches.

Circumference of Santa’s arms (above the groove) is 4 1/2 inches.
Circumference of Mrs. Santa’s arms (above the groove) 4 inches.

Circumference of Santa’s legs (above the groove) is 9 3/4 inches.
Circumference of Mrs. Santa’s legs (above the groove) is 6 3/4 inches.

Measurement from neck to crotch on Santa’s body is approximately 17 inches.
Measurement from neck to crotch on Mrs. Santa’s body is approximately 14 1/4 inches.

Length of Santa’s cloth arm from neck to arm casing is approximately 14 inches.
Length of Mrs. Santa’s cloth arm from neck to arm casing is approximately 13 inches.

Length of Santa’s cloth leg from crotch to leg casing is approximately 10 inches.
Length of Mrs. Santa’s cloth leg from crotch to leg casing is approximately 8 1/2 inches.

Interesting idea, Bonnie… let me give it some thought! Oops! I just realized… The problem with jointed arms is that you would not be able to run armature into the arms in order for them to hold a pose.

Do you still want me to try to convert this to jointed arms? Or are you wanting it unjointed as it currently is?

Bonnie -

I’m guessing you probably want bent arms, right? Give me a few days to perfect the unjointed pattern and then I will work up a jointed arm version for you.

Oh, Bonnie - you are too funny!

I am currently working on my first prototype of this body as I type and I think it is turning out real nice. I have added elbow and knee gussets so that when you bend them, there is extra fabric to allow for the extra required for the bend. This body is so crazy big as it needs to be for a 34" doll with 1/4 limbs! I did not realize how much fabric it was going to use up.

Right now, I am working on trying to get the arm length correct and then it will be all done - yay! Thank you again, BB, for supplying the measurements that I needed.

I will let you know when I am ready for your bodies, Bonnie.

Sorry, but there was a miscommunication while getting these measurements for you.
The diameter that was originally written was actually the circumference. The mistake has been corrected and also pasted below correctly.

The correct measurements are:

Diameter of Santa’s arms is 1 3/8 inches.
Diameter of Mrs. Santa’s arms is 1 1/4 inches.

Diameter of Santa’s legs is 3 inches.
Diameter of Mrs. Santa’s legs is 2 inches.
